2.3 Device Authentication

If you use Face ID or Touch ID to access the Crewreers app, this biometric authentication is handled entirely by your device's operating system (Apple iOS or Android). Crewreers does not collect, access, or store any biometric data. Your biometric information never leaves your device.

2.4 Identity Verification (Captain's Pick subscribers)

Captain's Pick subscribers undergo identity verification via Stripe Identity. This process involves submitting a government-issued photo ID and a selfie. This information is processed by Stripe in accordance with Stripe's Privacy Policy. Crewreers receives a verification result (pass/fail) and a confidence score only — we do not store copies of your ID documents.

4. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share your information only in the following circumstances:

4.1 With Other Users

Your crew profile (name, photo, certifications, location, work history, verification status) is visible to registered operators on the Platform. Operators' job listings are visible to registered crew members. You control what information you include in your profile.

4.2 With Service Providers

All service providers are contractually required to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we specify.

4.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information where required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Crewreers, our users, or the public.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on Google Firebase servers. Firebase infrastructure is hosted in secure data centres with industry-standard physical and digital security controls.

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active, or as required for legal and compliance purposes. When you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

6. International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers (including Stripe and Google) may process your data outside Australia. Where this occurs, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles.

8. Cookies and Tracking

The Crewreers mobile app does not use cookies. If a web version of the Platform is made available, it may use cookies and similar tracking technologies for session management, analytics, and functionality. You may control cookie preferences through your browser settings.

9. Children's Privacy

Crewreers is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from users under 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will terminate their account and delete their data.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. The date of the most recent update is shown at the top of this page.
