How does certification verification work?
When you upload a certification, you provide the issuing authority, dates, certification number, and supporting document photos. The platform tracks expiry dates automatically and flags certifications as valid, expiring soon, or expired so operators see your current standing at a glance. Keeping your certifications accurate increases your visibility in search results and gives operators the confidence to hire fast.
How does Biometric ID verification work?
Captains Pick uses biometric verification to confirm you are who you say you are. You submit a government-issued ID alongside a short facial recognition check, which is matched against your document in real time. Once verified, a verified badge appears on your profile so operators can see at a glance that your identity has been independently confirmed. The process takes a few minutes with Stripe and your biometric data is never stored on the Crewreers after verification is complete.
How is Crewreers different from using a crewing agency?
A traditional agency sits between you and the operator, controls who sees your profile, and takes a commission on every placement. Crewreers removes that entirely. Operators post roles directly, crew apply directly, and all communication happens inside the platform. Operators pay a flat monthly fee regardless of how many hires they make, so there is no financial pressure to push any particular candidate.
Can I control who sees my profile?
Yes. You can set your overall visibility to public or connections only. Individual sections, including certifications, experience, skills, and testimonials, each have their own visibility toggle. Your location is opt-in and can be turned off at any time. If you are not actively looking for work, simply remove the open to work status without deleting anything from your profile.
